(LATEST) Aprilia’s RSV4 Trenta to Get RS-GP Livery?

Lorenzo Savadori, an Aprilia test rider, placed 19th overall in the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix. Although the 32nd place finisher’s in-race speed didn’t inspire viewers, his RS-unique GP’s livery undoubtedly did. The tri-colored paint scheme surely seems familiar to devoted Grand Prix and Aprilia enthusiasts in particular.

The Noale factory completely destroyed the 125cc and 250cc GP classes in the 1990s and 2000s. With riders like Max Biaggi, Loris Capirossi, and Valentino Rossi at the wheel, Aprilia won 19 riders’ titles and 19 constructor titles over a 20-year span.

All of that domination in the lightweight and intermediate classes dates back to Alessandro Gramigni’s 1992 125cc Grand Prix victory.

Gramini’s RS 125 R was painted in a purple/white/red trico pattern that year. As Aprilia continued to use the color scheme on both race bikes and production models, the design quickly became recognizable.

With Lorenzo Savadori’s Austrian GP bike, the company went back to its roots, and it appears that a limited-edition RSV4 will soon sport the same vintage livery.

30 years have passed since Aprilia won its first Grand Prix, and in July 2022, speculations of a celebration RSV4 Trenta first arose. There are more paint portions in Savadori’s RS-GP, as many keen readers have probably already noted.

A black stripe splits the red-painted panel on the bottom fairing between the Aprilia script and “a” logos. Though it may be difficult to see from a distance, that black stripe’s writing contains the word “Trenta.”

The Trenta font used on the RS-GP is identical to the script used on the RSV4 Trenta prototype that was previously seen.

Many people think that the RSV4 Trenta could make its debut in Aprilia’s home race in 2022, when the Grand Prix will be held at Italy’s Misano World Circuit on September 2-4.

For the commemorative superbike, sticking with the same tri-color paint scheme would only make sense, but Aprilia might include additional race-inspired details like a rear tire air scoop.

Unfortunately, we won’t know what Aprilia has in store for us for a few more weeks, but the possibility of a brand-new, limited-edition RSV4 is certainly giving us food for thought in the meanwhile.

Mihael

Hello there fellow motorcycle enthusiasts; I’m Mihael. The first motorcycle I had was a scooter Gilera vxr 200 from 2003. This is the motorcycle I fell in love with, which brought me into the moto world. Since then, I have been riding many kinds of bikes, from dirt bikes to race bikes. At the moment, I have a Kawasaki Z750 from 2004, and all I can say is that it is a hell of a bike. I have been riding motorcycles for the last 10 years, and during this period, I have been to many locations where I would probably not be without my bike. My goal is to give you the best advice and tips possible that I have been using myself and that all of my biker friends find helpful to them as well.
