For the second time in as many competitions, a number of drivers have chosen to install new components that are associated with either the power unit or the gearbox.
As things stand, nine drivers, which is almost half of the total field, are in danger of receiving a penalty.
Both the reigning world champion Max Verstappen and Alpine’s Esteban Ocon are expected to fall five positions as a result of their engines needing to be replaced.
Sergio Perez, who is on the same Red Bull racing team as Max Verstappen, has been given a penalty of ten positions, while Valtteri Bottas of Alfa Romeo and both of the Haas racers have been demoted by fifteen positions each.
The drivers Carlos Sainz of Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes, and Yuki Tsunoda of AlphaTauri will all be moved to the back of the pack as a result of their penalties.
This group of three will get in line according to the sequence in which they qualified.
