On July 8, 2022, Marvel published the fourth volume of its Thor series, titled Thor: Love and Thunder. In the past, Yamaha has honored Marvel movies by producing special editions of the Fazer FZ25 model, painting the quarter-liter naked bike to resemble Black Panther and Captain Marvel. With the release of the 2023 Fazer FZ25 Thor Edition, the platform will now sport the recognizable hues associated with the God of Thunder.
The FZ25 is almost unchanged other than the limited-edition paint job that has been applied to it. The oil/air-cooled, SOHC, two-valve, 249 cc single-cylinder engine still uses Yamaha’s Blueflex technology, which enables the mill to run on both gasoline and ethanol.
The engine is cooled by air and cooled by oil. However, in order to reach its maximum power output of 21.5 horsepower (at 8000 rpm) and 15.5 lb-ft of torque, the versatile thumper needs to be fueled with ethanol (at 6500 rpm).
While the engine’s forged aluminum piston and ceramic-coated cylinder help to maintain the engine’s efficiency and durability, the five-speed transmission ensures that the vehicle can be driven in a variety of settings with ease.
Additionally, Team Blue ups the ante in terms of technology by equipping their vehicle with LED lighting everywhere, an LCD dashboard, and two-channel ABS.
The limited-edition Fazer with a Thor motif is really only interesting because of the paint job. Chis Hemsworth dons a brand-new outfit for the Love and Thunder sequel, which is decked out in blue, gold, and red colors, and the FZ25 gets its design cues from this colorful getup.
The front fender, side shrouds, and tail are covered in a blue paint base, while the crimson gas tank is designed to imitate Thor’s signature cape. The golden visuals and gambeson armor embellishments are also direct references to Thor’s most recent getup.
Thor’s trusty hammer, Mjolnir, makes its imprint on the front fender of the Yamaha, while lightning bolt designs are featured on the headlamp nacelle. Yamaha takes the motif one step further. The joint design features are finished off with the Yamaha and Marvel emblems printed on the side panels.
For the time being, the 2023 Fazer FZ25 Thor Edition will only be offered in Brazil in a limited quantity of 1,000 units. The limited-edition Fazer will be sold at a retail price of R$21,990 ($4,325 USD), which represents a slight increase over the price tag of the ordinary model, which was R$21,490 ($4,225 USD).
